Hot Dogs with Chunky Cranberry-Beer Topping

INGREDIENTS

  • 330ml bottle raspberry or berry beer
  • 250ml Ocean Spray® Cranberry & Raspberry Juice Drink
  • 50g soft brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 x 150g pack Ocean Spray® Craisins® Dried Cranberries
  • 4 good quality sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns

DIRECTIONS

Combine beer, juice drink, sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and garlic in a large frying pan. Simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce starts to reduce. Add the Craisins® Dried Cranberries and cook, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until dried cranberries are plumped. Simmer for a further 5 minutes or until sauce is reduced by half.

Preheat grill to medium heat. Grill sausages for 10 minutes or until cooked through and no longer pink inside. Place grilled sausages in buns. Top each evenly with cranberry mixture.

TIP: Keep any leftover topping and serve with cold meats.
